Receive My Forgiveness

One of the most blessed and awesome realities is that through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, all our sins have been forgiven. Those who truly repent (turn around and face God) and confess their sins, are forgiven. Yet, the world, the devil, and our own sinful nature conspire to rob us of this precious gift.

As someone who has struggled mightily, for years, I know just how hard it is to really believe that God has really forgiven me all my sins. I have worried about this. I have fretted about this, until I am convinced that He really has not forgiven me. This of course is a big fat lie. God does not change, nor does He lie. That is not who God is. God is truth, and the truth is that through Jesus Christ, anyone who comes to Him, can and will receive His divine forgiveness, through faith in Jesus Christ alone.

One night, I was sitting at my computer and God inspired me to write this letter. It is written from His point of view. So, please read this and see if this will help you focus on what God says and promises.

My Dear Beloved Child,

You have been fretting and worrying about truly receiving my forgiveness. You have tortured yourself to no end! Cease! Desist I command you! Stop this nonsense at once! I have already paid for all your sins. Again I say, I have paid for ALL YOUR SINS! So, here is a small list of things to keep reminding yourself about my forgiveness and what it means for you. All these things are true whether you believe them or not. Yet, if you do believe and receive my forgiveness, then you are appropriating them for yourself.

Do not suppose that my forgiveness is limited or has an “expiration” date! It is unlimited in every way. You do need to repent, that is turn from your sin(s) and turn back to me. I am your Lord, Savior, and Redeemer! To turn back to me is my chosen way, so that you can receive my unconditional love and forgiveness. You need not worry about whether you have so angered me that I will refuse you and turn you away! Did I not say that i.e. anyone comes to me, I would in no way cast them out? Did I not call on all who labor and are heavy laden to come to Me and I will give them rest? Of course I did. As I said to the older son, in the parable of the prodigal son, I have always loved you. So, please, please, read this letter from me. Meditate on what I have written and do not belabor any more about receiving My forgiveness. All you need to do is believe the words I am writing to you and what is written in Scripture! Repent, Confess, and Receive!

The following statements are true whether you believe them or not. But, when you do, then you truly do receive My Forgiveness:

1. You now know, in a very personal and intimate way, that I do love (agape) you.

2. I am not angry with you. In fact, all My anger was fully and completely expended on My Son on the cross. He and He alone bore the full and awful penalty for all your sins!

3. You are very precious in My sight. In fact, you are so priceless, that it took the death of My Son to set things right.

4. I completely and fully accept you just as you are: My repentant child. There is nothing I would not give you for your ultimate good. Nothing!

5. I am your only true Father. You can and should call me Abba!

6. You no longer need to be terrified of Me. Why should you? After all, I forgive you and I am your loving Father. Remember that I sent my Son to die for you! Of course you can come to Me and pour out your heart! That is exactly what I earnestly desire. So, don’t hesitate. "Call upon me and I will answer thee and show thee mighty things that thou knowest not!"

7. Despite your severe doubts, YOU ARE GOING TO HEAVEN – PERIOD!

8. You no longer have to “try and try and try” to please me. As I said to My Son, Christ, “With thee I am well pleased!” So, relax. You are fully and completely justified, that is, you are without sin, because of your faith in My Son, Jesus Christ.

In summary, it is not true, but is a lie of Satan, that you are unloved, unneeded, uncared for, worthless, an orphan, destitute, fatherless, not good enough, and alone. No! But you, oh child of God, you are: loved by Me, your Heavenly Father, and I need you to serve in My Kingdom. You are of infinite value! After all, Jesus, My Son, did die and rise again, FOR YOU! Did I not say that you are of more value than many sparrows? Is there anything in the entire universe that is more valuable than My Son, Jesus Christ, the apple of My eye? No! Because you believe in My Son, you are also the apple of My eye. There is nothing, absolutely nothing in the entire universe that can and will ever separate you from My love, through Jesus Christ! NOTHING! So, shout with all of your being, THIS IS MOST CERTAINLY TRUE!
